Togetherness by Tracy Otten Morris, Minnesota |
If you really knew me,
Arlene Green |
| FROM THE ARTIST: Generally my work revolves around ideas that explore how we develop into unique individuals. As a print maker I utilize a variety of print processes to build up layers of information. In this piece I used a photo-based screen printing process. I referenced children’s flashcards to create the silhouette forms and paired them together in gender specific combinations. The girls and boys hold hands in the same way that opposite genders might be expected to. This image encourages acceptance of same sex relationships and is meant to fight homophobia. |
