Carrots
by Olesya Karakotsya

Kiev, Ukraine

The price of the democratic way of life is a growing
APPRECIATION
of people’s differences,
not merely as tolerable,
but as the essence of a
rich and rewarding human experience.

Jerome Nathanson
Author & Anti-Capital Punishment Activist

FROM THE ARTIST: Our planet is big and varied; some places are hot and some are cold. Despite even the most severe climates, people are able to inhabit the most remote corners of the world. Nature makes us differ from each other outwardly – someone wears a paranja, someone beautifies himself with feathers. But we all forget our differences when we are hungry – carrots connecting the world.
