"What a FABULOUS job your docents did! I can't say enough about how
impressed we were with their talents!" -Sarasota Elementary School Teacher
Our Docent Program partnership with Riverview High School continues to be the jewel in our crown with more than 150 students participating. Under the guidance of faculty advisor Dena Sturm, these high school students serve as guides for thousands of area elementary, middle and high school students who visit the exhibit every year—inspiring the younger students to more fully comprehend the messages delivered through the art and quotes. These dynamic student docents make a profound impact on the young people who visit the exhibit. With their guided questions and planted seeds of inquiry, docents help younger students arrive at realizations of their own about diversity and acceptance. Student docent tours were provided to 6,495 K-8 children visiting the exhibit in 2018.
Scheduling your student docent is quick and easy. Register online for your FREE field trip, and simply click “YES” when asked, “Would you like to have a student docent?” You will be contacted with more details prior to visiting the exhibit.
For 2019, our Docent Program is available from January 22 through March 14, 2019. If your trip is scheduled after that date, please contact Dena Sturm to determine the possibility of making an exception.
**If you are participating in the Make-A-Day of It Program, you MUST have a student docent for the exhibit.**

An extra special thank you to The Ringling for providing a comprehensive, full-day docent training for our high school students. This in-depth workshop has greatly enhanced the program and prepared our students to be leaders and educators at the exhibit.
