Rooted in Flight

Artist Statement

We are fortunate to live in such a lively colorful environment. I wanted to capture the essence of us coming together with our differences to create a whole. I chose to create a tree made up entirely of a diverse grouping of birds. A community, or tree in this case, is completely dependent upon its inhabitants to exist. It has the sense that we are free but unified in our like purposes as living things.
