Shouldn't All Dreams Be Created Equal?

by: Irene Abdou, Germantown, Maryland

LISTEN to others but do not become a blind follower. Do not wait for others to move out - move out yourself - where you see wrong or inequality or injustice speak out. This is your democracy - make it - protect it - pass it on.

quote by: Thurgood Marshall , (July 2, 1908 - January 24, 1993) Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court

Artist Statement

I am a travel photographer and got this shot in the nick of time, as a moment later a police officer asked the group to take the sign down. Forty six years after Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech in 1963, I still have a dream… don’t we all? Shouldn’t all dreams be created equal? Let’s recognize and embrace each other’s differences by respecting each and every dream.
