Willis Elementary third grade students brainstormed the idea of shelter and homes all across the world. Students discussed what was essential for a home and what makes homes different around the world. We discussed location, climate and culture. Next students began sketching and drawing their ideas of real or imagined homes. All homes were then collaged onto a sheet of paper and they discussed the possible titles and decided on “Building Upon Our Differences” because it looked as though all the different homes were actually one large structure or home.
