While living in Southern Africa I got to know the nomadic tribe of the Himba, which lives in Northern Namibia on the boarder to Angola. They live relatively untouched by western civilization. Their clothing, hairstyles and jewelry have different meanings and give you exact information about one’s social position and personal situation. My photo shows two Himba girls, doing a cosmetic treatment on each other with the question “What is beauty?”.
