Temporary Existence in Space

Artist Statement

This piece focuses on my concerns for existence, expansion, and the domination of cultures. The construction taking place in the foreground shows growth and expansion, however it’s a “house of cards” that is unstable. The map includes part of the Navajo Nation reservation and a detail of the city of Taos, New Mexico to represent how, throughout history and around the world, cultures have claimed or displaced other cultures.
