Artist Statement

Through my art I explore the themes of diversity and inclusion in America and the fact that this nation is a melting pot of ethnicities. Being from El Salvador, I have experienced the difficulties of adapting to a different culture and language. In my piece, I imagine how siblings who have mixed ethnicities could look very different, and still have the bond of being brothers and sisters. In a world where races have mixed so much, the color of one’s skin and eyes have little importance. If anything, it serves to heighten the beauty of mixing ethnicities.
