Artist Statement

I am lucky to have a job that is also my passion and I am inspired every year by a new group of students. Just like every child is different, every year, each class has its own personality. This year our class represents diversity in many ways: different cultures, abilities, interests and just about every aspect each person can be.

From the students’ thoughts:

“When people see my work, I’d like them to______________.”
“Think about loving the painting we made!”
“See that it’s beautiful.”
“Think about their moms and dads.”
“Be nice to each other.”
“How we embrace each other.”
“See that we might be of a different color, but we all have the same hands.”
