Artist Statement

I've always felt that people have far more similarities than differences, which is what I want to show in this series. Though we may have different backgrounds, we all share a lot. The few differences we have as humans should be celebrated and not oppressed. In this piece, I wanted to celebrate the art of the cultural mask - West African, Polynesians, and Pacific Northwest Indian.
