Artist Statement

My design focuses on the idea that, even though you may be different, you still have a place and purpose in society. I chose a platypus to represent that idea because it is so different from any animal in the world, but it still has a place in the environment. It is also a humorous animal and I wanted to incorporate humor into my design so that people would look at the message in a positive way.
