Artist Statement

This allegorical illustration is about sharing friendship in a multicultural and very diverse world. One thing is common for all of us: We all require care and friendship. In this work, we see a dog and bird who are friends—despite the fact that in nature the dog might hunt or harm the bird. But we can learn to overcome innate prejudices and biases and step past boundaries—to embrace each other no matter our differences. If animals can do it, so can we!
