Artist Statement

According to reports, more than 800,000 Rohingya refugees have fled ethnic violence in Myanmar into Bangladesh. The Rohingya people, from the Rakhine State of Myanmar, are abandoning homes and villages they have lived in for 200 years. Subject to discrimination for years and not recognized as citizens, the Rohingya, the majority of whom are Muslims, are risking death to make the perilous journey out of Myanmar. This humanitarian crisis is causing suffering on a catastrophic scale..
