If we won't stop racism, who will?

My artwork was made with paint and a Sharpie. It shows a dark-skinned girl surrounded by negative comments she’s heard over her lifetime. The reason I drew this work was because, for years, I have been told these things by people, and I started to believe them, which made me depressed about myself. I’m still struggling to not let those comments enter my belief system, because I know that I am beautiful and worthy. Just drawing this was a big move for me because I have kept this hurt to myself. Embracing our Differences is something I take pride in.
