Limited Edition

Artist Statement

My piece’s title is “Limited Edition” because there is only one you - so accept yourself, with all your unique qualities and characteristics. The theme of this piece is about self-love. Today, many men, women and children of all ethnicities and backgrounds have difficulty accepting themselves because of their hair texture, size, skin tone, disabilities, gender and more. Growing up, I had a hard time accepting my natural hair; I always wanted to change my hair to fit other people's definitions of beauty. But now I've learned that I should cherish what makes me unique.
