"Sunsets are there to remind us that beauty comes in all colors."
quote by: Lee Hayes Byron, Sarasota, Florida
This piece of work is about being biracial and confused. As I get older, it’s like I am having one huge identity crisis, but it's been my entire life. How many of us have been asked, 'What are you?' Let's all collectively roll our eyes. How many boxes am I allowed to check? Do I have to choose just one? What am I? I'm still trying to figure that out. This piece was created to describe my personal experience as a black and white woman: confusing and alienating, yet empowering and beautiful.
