Artist Statement

In many communities there are still traditionalist/out-dated views on some issues. This was also the case in the life of the hero of my photo. He was born and lives in Ukraine. He felt like a woman since childhood and because of this he suffered a lot. There were insults at home and at school. Only now, when he is an adult, is there a chance for a better life. I believe that a person is born free and remains so throughout his life. He has the right to decide for himself and no one has the right to put pressure on him.
