Artist Statement

This piece is a representation of how those who hate and only see our differences are only hurting themselves. When we focus on the things that are hate, jealousy, judgment, we miss out on the many, many, many beauties of life. If we were to simply look through the eyes of young children who see no difference, we would enjoy life all the more. I chose red and pink for the background because they are the same color, yet they can mean completely different things. Showing we are all human with the choice between love and hate. I also decided to draw a butterfly out of all bugs, representing a great need for change and growth in our world. Thank you for your time and consideration.
