Embracing Our Differences celebrated the importance of kindness, respect and literacy, with the 12th annual "Embracing Our Differences Reading Day.” With the help of our volunteers (and our wonderful partners: Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, The Patterson Foundation, Community Foundation of Sarasota County, and United Way Suncoast) this year’s initiative reached nearly 10,000 students across Manatee, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties.

The Grand Opening Celebration on March 7th featured live music from Shelby Sol, delicious bites from Jerk n Tings, My Hungry Vegan, and Boba by the Bay, as well as fun community partner booths.

The 2026 Embracing Our Differences Annual Sarasota Luncheon was held on Friday, February 20 at The Ora. The keynote speakers were Booker High School student Rihaunna Stafford, Sarasota High student Mallory Sturm, and EOD Board Member & Child & Adult Psychiatrist, Dr. Christina de Guia.
